For those keeping score, In the past there have been complaints about Iggy's use of the term "niggah", with Azalea responding that she "calls her 'friend' niggah all the time". In the Music.Mic article, there were some very erudite historical analysis of Hip-Hop's cultural and social-political beginnings and relevance to the Black community. It's interesting that back in the late 1970s and early 1980's Hip-Hop was viewed as a blend between the urban sound of northern inner cities and the "street beat" of New Orleans...Just thought that I'd throw that in; and I'll also throw in that if Hip-Hop artist REALLY want to stop cultural counter-fitting, take a page out of James Brown's lexicon and adopt lyrics that are indeed culturally and social-politically emblematic of the people from which it emanates...you see, not EVERYONE can legitimately say "I'm Black and I'm Proud"....JUST SAY'n
